Heavy rains expected in Mumbai today; road, rail traffic likely to be hit

Mumbai: A day after rains lashed Mumbai, similar weather condition is expected to continue on Sunday as well. Heavy rains on Saturday brought the temperature down, with the average temperature being recorded at 28 degree Celsius at 4 PM.

A cyclonic circulation which has been observed over east central Arabian Sea is likely to move away from the Coast.

Maharashtra will soon return to its dry spell phase.

It continued to rain heavily as Monsoon is set to depart from the zone. 

Skymetweather.com has predicted heavy rainfall in Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune.

However, Nashik is the only region which has received negligible amount of rain.

As per reports, such weather conditions is primarily caused due to a trough which is moving across Central Maharashtra.

It is reportedly moving towards the south, but is likely to weaken marginally. 

Apart from that, a cyclonic circulation which has been observed over east central Arabian Sea is likely to move away from the Coast. The report also claimed that soon the state will return to its dry spell phase.

In the last 24 hours, the regions of the state, apart from Mumbai, which received rainfall are Vengurla (54 mm), Osmanabad (27 mm), Bhira (25 mm), Udgir (14 mm), Sangli (13.4 mm), Ahmednagar (9.5 mm), Parbhani (9 mm), Harnai (4.4 mm), Mahabaleshwar (4 mm), Kolhapur (2.3 mm), Nagpur (2 mm), Aurangabad (1.3 mm) and Amaravati and Nashik.

As per weather predictions, Mumbai as of now has recorded 91 per cent humidity. 

On Sunday, while rainfall is expected to continue, the maximum temperature will remain 31 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be 27 degree Celsius.
