Bhaderwah: An average intensity earthquake on Saturday shivered some parts of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The earthquake, measuring 4.3 on the Richter Scale, struck Bhaderwah, Doda and Gandoh areas of the district around 4:20 AM, MeT officials said.
"As of now, there is no immediate report of any casualty or damage to property," Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Bhaderwah, Mohammad Anwar Banday, said.
People rushed out of their homes in panic circumstances in Doda town when the quake, whose epicentre was 12km south-west of Bhaderwah, rattled the picturesque valley.
People of Chenab valley are apprehensive of tremors after a study by a group of US scientists published last year predicted that there is a possibility of major earthquake in J&K.
