Yangon: A total of four explosions occurred at a supermarket in Thakayta township of Myanmar' Yangon on Sunday evening, the Fire Department told Xinhua.

The first two blasts took place at 05.30 p.m. local time while the remaining two exploded half an hour later, respectively at the sports equipment counter and food centre of the two-storey CAPITAL supermarket, police said.


Although the explosions were first suspected as being caused by home-made bombs, they were identified by experts as chemical explosions.


So far there are no reports of any casualty.
