Addressing the press here, he said, “NDA had hopes from the elections. The results were not as per our expectations. We will introspect as to what went wrong.”

At the same he said, “We will play the role of a constructive Opposition. We want the Grand Alliance to work for the development of Bihar. We will support them fully.”

On BJP's poor performance, Sushil Modi said, “We will analyse as to where we went wrong and we will also analyse as to what impact various issues had on the polls.”

Nonetheless, he thanked BJP's allies and party workers for the hard work that they had put up.

The BJP leader also accepted that caste is always a factor in any election.

“Maybe the Opposition was able to build a bigger caste combination than us.”

“Our seats were reduced but Nitish should also introspect as to why his seat was reduced. Lalu has more seats, so naturally he will get more ministries and will have more say in the government,” he observed.

Whether Lalu and Nitish would work well together Sushil Modi said, “Lets see what happens in future. Let the government be formed and then we will comment on the working.”

The Grand Alliance dealt a massive blow to the BJP-led NDA in Bihar in the 243-member state Legislative Assembly and swept the elections today with Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD making an emphatic comeback.
