Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader Amarinder Singh on Sunday hailed the Bihar election results as the "victory of pluralism, secularism and democracy" and "rejection of the divisive and intolerant forces" that were sought to be unleashed in the recent past in the country.

 Congratulating the people of Bihar for rejecting the divisive and intolerant forces, Amarinder, in a statement issued here, said the result has reinforced the belief that people want to live in peace and harmony and mutual respect for one another.


 He also congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for retaining the faith and confidence of people against all odds.


 The Congress leader said the result will also have a decisive impact on Punjab and will set the tone for "defeat of divisive forces" in the state in the assembly elections, which are not very far.
