The brothers – Suresh and Kapil Sharma – were abducted from Patna airport premises just after they arrived from Delhi at around 6:30 pm last Friday. The duo's father Babu Lal Sharma hails from Rajasthan and lives in Badarpur area of south Delhi.

Hours later, Babu Lal received a phone call from his sons saying that they have been moved to a Naxal-infested area.

Later it was reported that the kidnappers asked Babu Lal to pay Rs 4 crore as ransom for the safe return of his sons. However, he did not, reportedly, inform the police about the ransom demand when he approached them seeking help to save his sons.

The modus operandi employed by the kidnappers has shocked the police. The Sharma brothers were reportedly lured by the kidnappers to Patna for a Rs 200 crore contract. To win their trust, the kidnappers even bought them return tickets.
