Patna: Bihar's Deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav believes that Bollywood filmmakers such as Prakash Jha are responsible for the negative image of the state.
He also asked as to why nobody questions the existence of dynasties in the film industry, as per Mail Today.
"Films and TV serials are portraying Bihar in the wrong light. The movie makers must change their perception about the state," Tejashwi was quoted as saying by the website.
The RJD leader reportedly made the comments while inaugurating the Patna Film Festival on Friday and maintained that Bihar had evolved into a developing state now.
Moreover, the Bihar Deputy CM lamented the fact even 'Gangaajal', made by Bihari producer-director Prakash Jha, had presented the state in bad light.
"Prakash Jha's Gangaajal and a TV serial currently on air, Bahubali, created a negative image of Bihar," he said.
Prakash Jha's next film 'Jai Gangaajal', starring Priyanka Chopra in the lead role, is scheduled to hit the screen soon.
The film is said to revolve around the theme of lawlessness.
In his earlier movie 'Gangaajal', Jha had named the main villain as Sadhu Yadav.
Tejashwi's maternal uncle has the same name.
'Gangaajal' was based on the infamous Bhagalpur blindings.
'Aparahan' is another of Jha's film and revolved around the theme of abduction syndicate in Bihar.
