Patna: Sulking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday fired fresh salvos at party leadership saying that if he was called for campaigning, things could have been better.
In a series of tweets this morning, the actor-turned politician claimed: I had no such expectations (of being made CM candidate). Have ONLY said - if I was called for campaigning, things could have been better.
The Patna Sahib MP said, “Despite sincerity, efforts & intention BihariBabu was kept away from campaigning for my people. My friends, voters&supporters were let down.”
The two time Lok Sabha MP reiterated his demand for fixing accountability for the Bihar Assembly Election defeat.
“Nonetheless, now that the verdict is out and we're saddened by this humiliating defeat, we should not run away from fixing responsibility,” Sinha's tweet said.
Earlier, hitting out at the party leadership for inducting leaders from outside to micromanage the campaign in Bihar, he had said they were brought in from Punjab, Maharashtra and Delhi, "who were completely out of touch with grassroots workers and ground reality, who did not understand the caste equations here."
BJP MP and actor Shatrughan Sinha is is under attack for his alleged anti-party activities.
After the Bihar poll results, Sinha showered praise on Nitish Kumar after meeting him and said, "Nitish Kumar is the tallest leader in Bihar."
The BJP leader also met Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, whose party has emerged as the single largest party in the Bihar polls.
Reports said that Sinha's meeting with Nitish Kumar did not go down well with the party, and the party was also unhappy with the BJP MP's continuous statements against the party.
