Raipur: Four Naxals, including a woman, were arrested in Chhattisgarh's Maoist-hit Kanker district, police said on Tuesday.

The cadres, identified as Ramesh Vetti (22), Faguram Mandavi (21), Panchlal Usendi alias Baiga and Sumitra Darro alias Guddi (20), were apprehended by a joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and district police force yesterday, Kanker Superintendent of Police Jitendra Singh Meena told PTI.


Following an input about the presence of rebels involved in torching as many as 26 vehicles engaged in mining related task at Chargaon-Metabodli mines last month, the joint team of security personnel was dispatched towards the spot, he said.


 After encircling the spot, the four Naxals were rounded up, the SP adding that during interrogation they confessed to their involvement with the banned outfit.


The arrested rebels also admitted to being involved in setting ablaze vehicles in Chargaon mines on October 30 this year, he said.
