Arvind Kejriwal orders probe against MK Meena

The order has come after MK Meena warned Arvind Kejriwal of legal action if a memorandum issued to him earlier for allegedly intimidating his juniors was not withdrawn.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has ordered a probe against Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) chief MK Meena for allegedly intimidating his juniors in the office.

The order has come after Meena warned Kejriwal of legal action if a memorandum issued to him earlier for allegedly intimidating his juniors was not withdrawn.

"There are grounds for inquiring into the imputations of misconduct or misbehaviour against Mukesh Meena and the undersigned considers that an inquiring authority should be appointed to inquire into the charges framed against Meena," read the decree signed by Kejriwal.

The order, issued on October 30, said retired IAS officer BS Banerjee will probe the charges against Meena, who is a joint commissioner in Delhi Police.

Earlier in October, Kejriwal asked Meena to explain the charges of negligence and intimidating his juniors in the ACB and issued a memorandum to him.

Meena then shot back, saying that he would not obey Kejriwal since he was not the competent authority.

Meena also warned the chief minister of action if the memorandum against him was not withdrawn.

Kejriwal and Meena have been at odds ever since Meena was appointed as the ACB chief in place of S.S Yadav, whom the Aam Aadmi Party government earlier appointed to the post.

The Delhi government refused to recognise Meena as the chief of anti-graft body and approached courts against Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung's decision to appoint him to the sensitive post.
