New Delhi: The Delhi government has sent a notice to the Special Commissioner in Transport Department, who recently accused Satyendar Jain of misbehaving with him and went on a 15-day leave, asking him to join duty immediately.
Following the strike called by the autorickshaw and taxi unions in the national capital, the notice was sent yesterday to Indushekhar Mishra, a 1993-batch officer of DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service), who had filed a complaint with the Lt Governor's Office against Jain.
The strike has been called off this evening.
According to sources, Mishra has replied to the notice saying that he cannot join duty now as he is unwell and the doctor has advised him to take rest for some days.
The officer had an argument with the Transport Minister at his office in Delhi Secretariat on Monday over the issue of the latter's plan to keep the RTOs open seven days a week.
The bureaucracy and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government have been at loggerheads over several issues.
On January 1, all DANICS officers had gone on a mass leave against Jain's order to suspend two DANICS officers working with the Delhi Home Department.
IAS officers association had also supported the move and had also gone on half-day mass leave.
