New Delhi: A day after a magisterial probe report into the death of six-year-old Divyansh Kakrora nailed Ryan International School for glaring lapses, the child's father on Saturday alleged that his son may have been sodomised before his death.
Divyansh's body was found in a water reservoir at the private school located in Vasant Kunj.
His father, Ramheet Meena, today said there were injury marks on the child's body including on private parts.
The parents had earlier claimed that their son was found in a naked state and they could not find his clothes.
As per PTI, Meena said the school's principal has even threatened him to keep quiet over the issue.
"There was sexual assault. He was done to death," Meena alleged.
"I saw the body. There were some injury marks and cotton on his private parts. The principal has been threatening me since the beginning saying that keeping quiet will be good for me...," he said, while renewing his demand for a CBI probe into the death.
He also demanded that the school's registration be cancelled.
"We are demanding a CBI probe so as to know how can my child reach that unapproachable place which is often locked and why would he crawl to reach that place. Even after the body was found, they were discussing who is going to take out the body from the tank," claimed Meena, a paramedical staffer at AIIMS.
Divyansh was found dead last Saturday (January 30) in the reservoir under the amphitheatre of the school in south Delhi. The initial post-mortem report had suggested he died of drowning and no external injuries were found.
Principal Sandhya Sabu had claimed that Divyansh was a "hyperactive" child who had "tendency" of running away from the classroom.
"In order to save themselves, the school authorities are alleging that my kid was hyperactive. No report from doctors or school suggests that he was hyper," Meena said.
"Police have not taken any action. Those arrested were given bail immediately instead of being sent to remand. I have raised 25 questions to the police and they are not responding to my questionnaire," he added.
Meanwhile, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, today suspected foul play in the child's death.
"Ryan International School student Divyansh Kakrora's parents' allegation of possible sodomy is being ignored," Sisodia said.
"Parents observations were ignored that cotton was found inserted in the child's anal point. All this is pointing towards a foul play or a serious crime," he said, adding, "how can a school be so irresponsible?"
The Delhi Police had on Thursday arrested the principal of the school Sandhya Sabu on charges of causing death due to negligence.
Four other employees of the school were also arrested on the same charges. They were class teacher Minakshi Kapoor (38), reverse osmosis plant operator Yogesh Kholiya (23), maintenance incharge Puran Singh Bisht (65), and gardener Ram Narayan (44).
All five were later granted bail by a court.
The magisterial inquiry into the death of Divyansh has pointed out serious lapses and deliberate inaction by school authorities in the case.
The report filed by SDM on Friday stated that the school completely failed in its responsibility to take proper care of its students. The report also mentioned that school administration did not make any attempt to rescue the child after he was spotted inside the tank.
"There was complete lack of moral and common sense found among the school members. When body of Divyansh was spotted inside the tank, none of the school authorities responded. Had the school management acted on time, 6-year-old child's life could have been saved," said the probe report.
Divyansh's body was recovered from the water tank by a class XI student in the presence of school teachers and swimming coach.
Raising questions on school's negligence in the case, the report further said, "In absence of class XI student, possible that body of child could not have been rescued. Not even a single CCTV installed in and around amphitheatre and play ground whereas at least 21 cameras were installed in Ryan premises itself.”
The probe report also accused the class teacher of being negligent and said, "The class teacher failed to notice absence of Divyansh for hours and couldn't not figure out proper time of missing child."
