The development comes after Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Political Affairs Committee (PAC) member Ilyas Azmi demanded removal of Tomar.

Notably, Tomar had on Thursday made his stand clear to the Delhi CM saying the allegation against him was false and baseless even as Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party stepped up their demand for his dismissal.

Yesterday, both Congress and BJP had demanded the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister on "moral and ethical grounds" for "trying to shield" Law Minister Jitendra Singh Tomar.

Bihar's Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University had earlier this week submitted a report in Delhi High Court stating that Tomar's provisional certificate was fabricated and does not exist in the institution's record. The report added that the provisional certificate in the record showed the name of some other person and not that of Tomar.

However, Tomar refuted the allegations of having a fake law degree and later said that he would tender his resignation immediately if Kejriwal asks him to do so.
