HEARTLESS DELHI: Man lay bleeding on road for 90 minutes, looted too, but no one helped - Watch

The whole incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed near Meraj cinema in Subhash Nagar where 35-year-old Matibul was hit by a delivery van.

New Delhi: In a horrific incident, a security guard kept writhing in pain early Wednesday after being hit by a delivery van on the road in west Delhi's Hari Nagar area. The man was lying by the roadside for close to 90 minutes before being rushed to a hospital where he was declared "brought dead".

The saddest part was that no one came to his help despite several passersby seeing him writhing in pain and one of them even went near him to take away his mobile phone.

A government hospital was just 500 metres from the accident spot.

The whole incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed near Meraj cinema in Subhash Nagar where 35-year-old Matibul was hit by a delivery van in the wee hours, police said.

Matibul was walking back to his home near Tihar village when he was hit by the van at around 3 am. The entire incident showing the injured Matibul lying on the road and people passing him without any reaction was recorded by the CCTV camera, a police officer said.

The recording also showed that a rickshaw puller came near him and took away his phone, he said.

The victim was a native of West Bengal and lived in a rented accommodation near Tihar village.

Police said they received information about a body lying on the road in Subhash Nagar at 7 am, following which a team was rushed to the spot who took it for autopsy.

Efforts are being made to identify the driver of the van who hit the deceased, they said.
