New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a man hurled shoe at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during a press conference here on Saturday to announce the reintroduction of the odd-even vehicular scheme in the national capital.
Kejriwal was addressing a press conference when the incident took place.
The accused has been identified as Ved Prakash of Aam Aadmi Sena.
He claimed that he had done a sting operation on AAP regarding an alleged CNG scam in Delhi.
He alleged that fake CNG stickers were being distributed in Delhi ahead of the odd-even vehicular scheme.
He also claimed he has the CD of the sting operation.
The shoe missed the target and the man was taken into custody by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers.
The attacker, who is about 26-27 years of age, shouted as he was being whisked away. He was arrested by police.
Kejriwal later continued with the press conference.
BJP and Congress Party have condemned the attack.
The Congress Party said, “Such attacks cannot be justified in anyway. There are peaceful way of voicing dissent.”
BJP's Nalin Kohli said, "It is condemnable, somewhere a line needs to be drawn to stop such acts."
