Nigerian woman approaches DCW for being forced into flesh trade

A Nigerian woman today approached the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) alleging that she was being forced into flesh trade by four persons of her own country, including three women.

New Delhi: A Nigerian woman today approached the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) alleging that she was being forced into flesh trade by four persons of her own country, including three women.

The victim was brought to Delhi in March by the accused persons on the pretext of giving her a job in a health institute, social activist Ramesh Mathiala, who brought the woman to DCW, said.

"The woman was kept at a rented accommodation in Tilak Nagar. After a few days, the accused started forcing her into flesh trade. When she resisted, the accused beat her up, tortured her and kept her in confinement," Mathiala said.

Apparently, yesterday the woman fled from the rented accommodation and reached Matiala where she approached a doctor. The doctor, on seeing her injuries, asked her how she got them. The woman then told about her condition to the doctor who approached the social activist following which she was taken to DCW.

"After a complaint was registered with DCW, one of its members took the woman to Tilak Nagar police station to lodge a police complaint," the activist said.

However, no FIR has been registered so far, he added.
