New Delhi: The future of improved air quality seems bleak as of now. For the residents of the national capital of India, there seems to be no respite from the choking, hazardous air pollution.
Smog produced by the toxins and particulate matter in the air has taken over Delhi, damaging the air quality and breaching safety standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Beginning a little before the Diwali season in November, 2015, Delhi has been under the scanner for being one of the countries with the highest amount of air pollution.
As per the Real-time Air Quality Index Visual Map, the highest amount of air pollution has been recorded in the areas in and around RK Puram at 386 as of 10:00 am.
The areas around New Delhi US Embassy and Punjabi Bagh recorded air pollution levels at 376 at 10:00 am and 368 at 9:00 am respectively.
Meanwhile, Anand Vihar's air quality was at 359 as of 10:00 am, comparatively lower than the previous week.
