New Delhi: The HRD ministry is looking to affect a number of reforms in order to bring more transparency in the system of transfers, admissions and overall functioning of Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs).

Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday held a meeting with senior KV and JNV officials in this regard, sources told PTI.


Minister of State for HRD Upendra Kushwaha was also present in the meeting.


"One of the prime issues which was discussed in the meeting related to the norms related to transfers in these HRD ministry-run schools," a source said.


Sources said there was also discussions on the procedure of admissions and ensuring inclusiveness and equity in these schools.


The ministry wants complete transparency in the norms related to the functioning of these schools, sources said.


"The ministry has reviewed various issues including those related to transfer policy norms in Kendriya Vidyalayas today.


However, it will take time before decisions are taken in this regard," the source said.
