New Delhi: The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have announced the registration for Common Admission Test 2016 (CAT 2016) with the coveted All India management entrance examination scheduled to be conducted on December 4 this year.
Applicants can register online for the from August 8-September 22, till 5 pm. Registration fee will have to be paid online. Candidates can download their admit card from October 18-December 4.
CAT will be conducted in two sessions — forenoon and afternoon sessions across 138 cities.
The duration of the exam will for at least 180 minutes.
The candidates will be given options to select for test cities in order of preferences.
This year, CAT exam will comprise of three sections — Verbal ability and reading comprehension, Data interpretation and logical reasoning and Quantitative ability.
The tutorial to understand the test format will be available on the CAT website from October 18, 2016.
In addition, sectional time limits i.e. of 60 minutes per section, introduced in CAT 2015, will be retained this year too. Therefore, students cannot switch between sections until they have completed the section they are answering.
CAT results will tentatively be released in the second week of January 2017.
Eligibility:
A bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average is necessary for general category students to be eligible for CAT.
