Jaipur: Rajasthan University is planning to set up a centre for innovation, incubation and entrepreneurship along with facilitating tie ups with industries.
"The university is contemplating two phases of the project which will provide support functions, mentorship and resources to students, both from the university and outside the university," University Vice Chancellor JP Singhal told PTI here.
Under the first phase, students from various departments of the university will be mentored where individuals from outside can also come and seek assistance, he said.
The university has physical infrastructure for such a center, which would be able to support facilities for science, commerce and arts streams.
"Students will innovate ideas and develop them into a business model with the advice of the centre. We will also have industrial tie-ups so that students can get exposure," he said, adding, that the fund would be raised from UGC, MHRD and the state government.
"The university wants to nurture good ideas and promote students. The centre will be helpful in developing an ecosystem to inspire and support students, aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups," he said.
