University of Calcutta M.Phil course admission: Last day to apply Sep 23

New Delhi: The University of Calcutta has started the admission process for M.Phil course for the session 2015-17.

Those aspiring to pursue M.Phil Course from the University of Calcutta must not delay as the last date to apply is September 23.

Applications are invited for two years M.Phil Course in following subjects for below-mentioned number of seats:

Bengali - 20, Sanskrit – 40, Pali -10, Hindi – 15,Commerce – 15, Urdu – 10, Sociology – 15, Philosophy – 20, History – 20, Pol. Science – 20, Ancient Indian Hisotry & Culture – 15, South and South East Asian Studies – 10, Education – 15, Women Studies – 15 and Library & Information Science – 15, English -20

Eligibility criteria:

Any candidate who has passed the M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. or equivalent Examination of this university with 55% marks in aggregate (S.C./S.T. with 50%marks) or With 60%marks in aggregate of any other recognized University.

Students who are taking M.A./M.Sc./M.Com Part II Examination and or Final Semester Examination in the above-mentioned subjects may also apply provisionally and sit for the admission test but their Final admission would depend on passing the examination obtained the required marks mentioned above.

Candidates who have qualified NET, SET or any equivalent national level examination are exempted from the admission test, but not from the interview.

Students who have done M.A. in South & South-East Asian Studies and any Social Science subjects, can apply for admission to M.Phil in South & South-East Asian Studies.

Candidates for any stream of M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. and/or other P.G. degrees from any recognized university are eligible to apply for the course of Women’s Studies.

Candidates of any streams of M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. and other P.G. degrees from recognized Universities are eligible to apply for Women’s Studies.

Application Fee:

Application fees of Rs.500/-.

SC/ST/PWD candidates will be required to pay Rs.250/ as application fee.

Form submission:

Completed Application will be received by the office of the Secretary, U.C.A.C, Collage street campus, Asutosh Building, Ground floor, Room No.3G .

Forms for Education, Sociology and Women’s Studies are to be submitted at the Alipur Campus, 1, Reformatory Street, Kolkata-700027.

Forms for Library and Information Science are to be submitted to the concerned Department at Asutosh Building, 3rd floor between 11.a.m. and 3 p.m. on all working days mentioned above within 23/09/2015 till 3.00 pm.
