Oppressed Dalits will teach a lesson to BJP: Arvind Kejriwal in Gujarat

Rajkot: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday met the victims of flogging incident that took place on July 11 for skinning a dead cow in Una town.

Talking to reporters after meeting the four victims of flogging at Civil Hospital here, the Delhi Chief Minister described the Gujarat government as “anti-Dalit”.

The BJP government in Gujarat is trying to suppress Dalits in the state, said Kejriwal, adding that such incidents must stop and a strict action must be taken against the culprits.

The AAP leader further warned that the oppressed Dalits would teach a lesson to the ruling BJP.

"Those culprits must be punished in such a manner that it should shake their hearts. An example must be set here," Kejriwal said.

He further took on the Gujarat government stating that the administration did not act at a time because it was hinted from "above".

"They were thrashed in full public. If such incident is happening in the presence of administration then it means that those culprits were backed by higher powers. It hints that the government was involved," Kejriwal said.
