New Delhi: Amid a bitter war between the ruling BJP and the AAP party, latter's chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will on Friday visit Gujarat to review his party's preparations for assembly polls due next year.

As per the schedule of Kejriwal’s visit released by AAP’s Gujarat unit, he would spend four days in the state, starting October 14.

Arvind Kejriwal will meet family members of Patidar youths, who were killed in the quota stir violence last year, during his Gujarat tour beginning Friday, a move dubbed as “casteist politics” and “stunt” by ruling BJP.

Slamming Kejriwal, state BJP chief Jitu Vaghani alleged that the AAP leader is creating tension in Gujarat by raking up past incidents.

On October 14 and 15, Kejriwal would meet some families of the deceased Patel youths in Mehsana and Ahmedabad.

Kejriwal will address a rally in Surat on October 16, before leaving for Delhi on October 17 afternoon.

AAP eyeing support of Hardik Patel

Arvind Kejriwal's party is believed to thinking of joining hands with Patel community leader Hardik Patel in its bid to beat ruling party BJP in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state.

Sources said AAP Gujarat leaders have contacted Hardik Patel, the face of a massive Patel or Patidar agitation in Gujarat for reservation in government jobs and colleges, in this regard.

Hardik Patel, they claimed, has agreed to support Kejriwal and a formal announcement is expected soon.

"Just like any other political party we are in touch with local leaders who want to work for the people. We have approached Hardik and he has assured all support to AAP," said a top party leader.
