New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain would meet representatives of private hospitals and nursing homes here on Tuesday evening in the wake of media reports of dengue patients being allegedly refused admission, officials said.

The minister would meet with administrators of all private hospitals and nursing homes in the national capital at 7.00 p.m., a Delhi government statement said.

Earlier during the day, Jain made a surprise visit to Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital in Moti Nagar to check preparedness for tackling dengue, officials said. 

Six-year-old Aman died due to alleged dengue complications on Sunday night after hospitals denied him admission, his family members said on Tuesday.

Earlier, an Odisha couple whose seven-year-old son Avinash Rout died of dengue committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a building.

The boy was allegedly denied admission by five hospitals - Moolchand Hospital, Aakash Hospital, Saket City Hospital, Max Hospital (Saket) and Irene Hospital (Kalkaji).
