New Delhi: These days most of us follow healthy diets in order to keep ourselves safe and sound. While making our diet chart we mainly concentrate on the low-calorie and high-energy foods that help us reduce extra flab from our body.

Inspite of religiously following diet charts, many of us won't get the desired toned body. Have you ever wondered why?

This is because you are not eating according to your blood type. If health experts are to be believed, eating a diet that is designed specifically for your blood group not only trims down your weight but also lowers the risk of many diseases.

As per neuropath Dr Peter D’Adamo, the creator and thinker of this whole concept, the food we eat reacts chemically with our blood type. If we consume diet that suits our blood type, our body will digest food more efficiently. So, this will help and boosting energy and prevent the risk of infections and diseases.

Keeping this in mind, Dr D' Adamo has recommended some specific foods for each blood type:

Type O blood: A protein rich, low carb diet with lots of lean meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables, and light on grains, beans, and dairy. Avoid wheat, diary caffine and alchohol.

Type A blood: A meat free diet based on greens, fruits,legumes and whole grains.

Type B blood: A low-fat diary diet with vegetables, eggs and certain meats. Avoid corn, wheat, buckwheat, lentils, tomatoes, peanuts, and sesame seeds. Chicken is also problematic.

Type AB blood: Focus mainly on seafood, tofu,diary and green vegetables and avoid caffeine, alcohol and smoked or cured meats.
