New Delhi: At the age of 24 Roman Saini already had an MBBS degree, job of a Assistant District Collector after cracking the prestigious civil services exam. Saini has everything what a man of his age would aspire for. But just after two years as Assistant District Collector in Jabalpur, Saini quit his job for something, where he was sure that he won't get power and clout like his previous professions.
Saini started 'Unacademy,' India’s largest free education initiative to ensure that academic hurdles do not come in between the youths and their aspirations. Saini uploads lectures on Youtube for aspiring doctors, civil servants, computer programmers, even experts in foreign languages. According to a report in the Times of India, about ten followers of Saini have cleared Civil Services exams till now.
Unacademy has now 20,000 Twitter followers and 64,000 Facebook likes.
Saini was inspired by his school friend Gaurav Munjal in the second year while pursuing his MBBS. Munjal sold his new start-up in Bengaluru to set up unacademy.in.
