Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the outfit in the controversy over Rohith Vemula's suicide and JNU row, has said that Jamia Millia Islamia harbours "anti-national elements" and does not encourage "diverse opinions", according to a report in TOI.

"How can a publicly-funded university oppose its PM's visit," an ABVP leader asks, the report added.

"A section of students wanted PM Narendra Modi to come for Jamia's convocation ceremony but their voice was not heard," ABVP alleged.

ABVP leaders say that they will also publicise how Jamia is not a minority institution right from the beginning.

"Why are these programmes like celebration of CRPF soldiers killings in Dantewada or Afzal guru being organized? Why are anti-national sloganeerings happening," asks ABVP slamming anti-national activities.
