New Delhi: Senior Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athawale on Tuesday forgot to mention his name while taking oath as Minister of State, but the Dalit leader was quickly corrected by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Athawale, a Rajya Sabha member from Maharashtra, started reading out the oath of office and secrecy, but without pronouncing his name.


 


 


The President corrected him, saying: "Apna naam boliye (speak out your name)".


Athawale paused for a moment and corrected himself saying "Sorry, sorry" and completed his oath-taking.
