The service will be available on 100.1 Megahertz frequency in all the metros.

The inauguration function was held at the premises of New Broadcasting House of AIR on Parliament Street in the national capital. Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Prasar Bharti chairman A Surya Prakash and Prasar Bharti CEO Jawhar Sircar were also present at the event.

The programme will be relayed by all Vividh Bharati service centres, all FM Rainbow channels, all multi-channel stations of AIR and other AIR stations.

Vividh Bharati, which was launched on October 3, 1957, had remained popular over the past six decades. But the channel's listenership has been on a decline since the launch of FM channels, which are available in car radios and on mobile phones.
