All of the arrested persons belong to a nomadic tribe.


Three of the those held who belonged to Bawariya gang have been identified by the victims.

- Mostly, Bawariya gang members belong to nomadic tribes; they are cruel and violent by nature


Why they named themselves 'Bawariya'?


- The word Bawariya is set to mean people who roam; the gang mostly operates in North India region


- They are also known as Chaddi Baniyan Gang or Habooda gang


How do they operate?


- Bawariya gang is an organised criminal group


- They often mask their faces during attacks


- Also, they put oil or mud on their body as lubricants which make it hard (slippery) to capture them


- They move around in groups 


- They wander as beggars, laborers, etc to identify potential houses/areas to attack


- They carry rods, axes, knives and country firearms to use them in attacks


Why are they rarely caught?


- According to crime experts, they move to different town once they are done with the attack, hence it needs police teams of multiple cities to locate them


- Also, at times they rent a car to roam around and identify locations
