Srinagar: A day after the Indian Army and J&K Police, in a joint operation, captured Pakistani terrorist Sajjad Ahmed after killing his four associates in a two-day operation in Kashmir, details have started to tumble out.

22-year-old Sajjad Ahmed, who was captured just weeks after Naved from Pakistan was caught alive in Udhampur, hails from Baloch area in southwest Pakistan.


He had recently infiltrated from the Uri side of the Line of Control (LoC). Five terrorists were part of the group and this was their third attempt to infiltrate into India after two previous attempts failed.

As per sources, Sajjad was trained in terror camps run by the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). He underwent an advance training of 45 days.


For Sajjad and his associates, there was no specific mission. The group was sent to Kashmir boost LeT's presence in the Valley.


Sajjad was under the command of Abu Tala, who was also killed in the encounter in Rafiabad area of Baramullah.
