Srinagar/New Delhi: In a major development, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Sunday busted an espionage racket supported by Pakistan’s Intelligence agency ISI and detained a suspected handler of this organisation and a serving personnel of Border Security Force (BSF).
According to news agency ANI, the serving head constable of the BSF has been arrested for being the main source for Pakistan Intelligence Operative (PIO) for procuring secret/confidential information detrimental for security of the country.
Both of them - BSF head constable and the Pakistan Intelligence Operative - have been arrested under the provisions of Official Secret Act.
The accused duo have been identified as Kafaitullah Khan alias Master Raja (44), a resident of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, and BSF head constable Abdul Rasheed, posted at the intelligence wing of Border Security Force in the same district.

According to the police officials, the operation was executed based on tip-offs about ongoing anti-national activities sponsored by Pakistan Intelligence Operative, which suspectedly has a network spread over civilian handlers and security forces personnel. Furthermore, Delhi Police's Crime Branch developed a network and a few suspects were identified.
"On Thursday, Khan had boarded a train from Jammu and was about to leave for Bhopal. He was apprehended by a police team at the railway station there and "documents having implication on national security" were recovered from his possession," PTI quoted Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav as saying.
The development comes two days after a high alert was sounded along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir Valley.

In another case, three people were arrested by the Kolkata Police's Special Task Force (STF) today for allegedly spying for Pakistan.
Irshad Ansari (51), a contract labourer with Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), his son Asfaq Ansari (23) and relative Mohammed Jahangir were arrested this afternoon from Dr Sudhir Bose Road in the Iqbalpur police station area in the southern part of the city.
The arrests come days after suspected ISI agent was arrested in Meerut. Security agencies say there could be a link to all the arrests.
