New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday filed a chargesheet against suspected al Qaeda members, including Maulana Anzar Shah, on charges of motivating people to join the terror outfit in India.

The chargesheet was filed in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Reetesh Singh, who fixed July 14 for the next date of hearing.


The Special Cell of Delhi Police chargesheeted five arrested members of al Qaeda in the Indian Sub-continent (AQIS) -- Shah, Abdul Sami, Zafar Masood, Abdul Rehman and Mohammed Asif.


Police also chargesheeted 12 other operatives who are on run. They have been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
