Devender, Dipti Sarna's stalker, was `unwanted` in his village, disowned by family

Devender, the man arrested for abducting a female Snapdeal executive from the Vaishali Metro Station in Ghaziabad, does not share a good relationship with his family, said a report on Wednesday.

New Delhi: Devender, the man arrested for abducting a female Snapdeal executive from the Vaishali Metro Station in Ghaziabad, does not share a good relationship with his family, said a report on Wednesday.

According to The Times of India, Dipti Sarna's stalker Devender was disowned by his own family a few years ago.

Devender's mother said that she had just one son now, who is a farmer.

His neighbours at Kami in Sonipat recall him as an aggressive person, who has stabbed and shot some people.

The daily reports that Devender's first brush with the law was in 2001 when he was booked for harassing a woman on a train. He was just 15-year-old at that time. Since then, the son of a retired Army officer had been booked in 32 cases, including three of murder.

He escaped from police custody in Sonipat during a court hearing in June 2014.

The man is now under arrest in connection with the mysterious abduction of Snapdeal executive Dipti Sarna.

Police dubbed Devender as a Bollywood-inspired "psychopath" who was tracking Dipti for around a year and wanted to win her heart.

Narrating the incredible tale, the Ghaziabad police revealed that Devender had stalked Dipti 150 times in a year as he was obsessively infatuated with her. He had even made plans to marry Dipti and live in Nepal.
