New Delhi: AAP convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had most of the times chanted 'Bharat Mata ki jai' in his rallies and speeches. But, now it seems after AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's 'won't say Bharat Mata ki jai' remark, AAP is finding it too tough as to what to say on the AIMIM leader's comments!

AAP leader Ashutosh on Tuesday had written a piece on Asaduddin Owaisi, questioning his 'won't say Bharat Mata ki jai' remark.

But, the party (AAP) has not taken any official stand on the issue, so far, according to a report in TOI.

"It is beyond my comprehension why should somebody have a problem with "Bharat Mata ki Jai". Whatever Communist thinkers including those at JNU might say, irrespective of academics saying that India is still evolving as a nation, the fact is that anyone who is born and brought up in India should not object from saying "Bharat Mata ki Jai", Ashutosh had written in a opinion piece.

AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi had said he will not chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai, comments that came against the backdrop of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's suggestion that the new generation needs to be taught to chant slogans hailing mother India.

"I dont chant that slogan. What are you going to do, Bhagwat sahab," Owaisi said, at a public rally in Udgir tehsil of Latur district.

"I wont utter that (slogan) even if you put a knife to my throat," Owaisi said. "Nowhere in the Constitution it says that one should say: Bharat Mata ki Jai," he said.
