Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati will turn 60 on Friday.
On the occasion of her birthday, she will release the English and Hindi versions of her book and interact with media.
The party is celebrating Mayawati's birthday as 'jan kalyankari divas' (people's welfare day) across the country.
The party chief will release the 11th edition of her book 'A travelogue of my struggle-ridden life and BSP movement' and take part in the 'jan kalyankari diwas', a party office bearer said.
She will also address a press conference on some issues pertaining to people's welfare.
The party has already declared that the day will be celebrated as 'jan kalyankari divas' all over the country and in Uttar Pradesh, programmes will be held at the district level to extend help to the poor and needy, he said.
On January 4, Mayawati had convened a meeting of senior party leaders and office-bearers to review the preparations for the 'jan kalyankari divas'.
The party chief had pointed out that it was all the more important as BSP is not just a party but also a movement and people have a lot of aspirations from it.
BSP plans to give a momentum to preparations for the 2017 Assembly Elections.
