The Twitter was abuzz with congratulatory messages for the Indian Cricket Team as it marked a victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in ICC events with a comprehensive six-wicket victory to keep their World T20 campaign alive.

New Delhi: The Twitter was abuzz with congratulatory messages for the Indian Cricket Team on Saturday as it marked a victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in ICC events with a comprehensive six-wicket victory to keep their World T20 campaign alive.

As soon as the match touched it's finishing line, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian Cricket Team.

Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani, BJP leader Giriraj Singh, BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain, Yogendra Yadav, the official Twitter handle of India National Congress, Rahul Gandhi were some other prominent personalities who were on the top of the world after India defeated Pakistan. All of them posted 'well done' messages on the social networking site.

Legendary Sachin Tendulkar also posted some commendable tweets for MS Dhoni and his team:

Making the moment a bit light and at the same time taking a dig at the Internet trolls, Indian tennis ace and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik's better half Sania Mirza wrote: “It's over .. Have I stopped trending yet??”  

In an another tweet, Sania hailed India's victory. "Good match.. Tough one Pakistan .. Balle balle India@imVkohli you rockstar#bleedblue #sportwins (sic)," she tweeted.

Sakshi Dhoni also took to the Twitter to congratulate Team India. "Congratulations Team India and Happy 8 years boo....," she tweeted.

In another tweet she added: "Ppl outside my house ...honking burning fire crackers ...screaming ...u guys r gonna wake up my daughter ....."

Meanwhile, Indian Border Security Force (BSF) jawans in Jammu were seen dancing and celebrating in their camps celebrating the victory.  

Earlier, during the match, environment-conscious citizens and some hotels switched off non-essential lights to observe Earth Hour today even as the majority stayed glued to television sets for the high-profile India-Pakistan World Twenty 20 match.
