New Delhi: The HRD Ministry has put up fresh advertisement for appointment of the CBSE chairman after it scrapped the search-cum-selection panel last month, following the rejection of its panel of names by ACC in April this year.
The development came after the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) rejected the names proposed by the Ministry for the CBSE chairman's post in April, with the Cabinet Secretary raising objections to the names, mainly over the experience criteria adopted for their selection.
The ACC had directed the HRD Ministry to complete the selection process within two months and submit its proposal to it for consideration before October 31.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been without a full-time chairman since December 2014.
Joint secretary in the Ministry Y S K Seshu Kumar has been entrusted with the additional charge of CBSE chairman. Satbir Bedi, who was understood to be Irani's top choice for the job, was handing the additional charge so far.
