According to government sources, there were several unconfirmed reports emerging on the status of the operation by Bangladesh security forces and therefore, India was ascertaining the facts.

Bangladesh's hostage crisis began when suspected Islamic State militants stormed a restaurant in Dhaka's high-security Gulshan diplomatic area last night and held many people as hostage, including foreigners.
