New Delhi: ISIS suspects arrested from different locations across the country before Republic Day, revealed to National Investigation Agency officials that their motive was to topple the Indian government.
They suspects reportedly revealed during the interrogation that they had plans to topple the government and also to bring in the Sharia law in the country.
According to arrested suspects, the Indian police were incapable to control crimes in the country and that they believed in giving stringent punishment to offenders.
They also told the investigators that they had plans to obtains huge amount of weapons to carry out terror activities in the country. The suspects were reportedly in touch with ISIS group through various apps.
They have been sent them to the NIA custody till February 5 for further interrogation.
In a nationwide crackdown, the National Investigation Agency had arrested at least 14 ISIS sympathizers. The NIA said that these suspects were under the surveillance for quite some time, however the decision to arrest them came at a time after the agency received inputs of possible terror attacks in the country on the Republic Day.
