New Delhi: As the Islamic State is trying to make inroads into the Indian sub-continent, the Jamaat-e-Islami has decided to campaign against the dreaded terror outfit.
The Jamaat will hold public meetings across the country to educate the Muslim youths about the evils of joining the ISIS.
The Jamaat will hold a public meeting on 'ISIS terrorism' in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram on September 19.
The whole idea of the Jamaat is to prevent the youth of the minority community from joining Islamic State.
According to a report published in Times of India, Jamaat Kerala amir, MI Abdul Azeez said, "The present Caliphate envisaged by the IS a fake one and mockery of real Islamic Caliphate."
Earlier this month, over 1,050 Indian Muslim scholars and clerics issued fatwa against the ISIS, saying that its views were "un-Islamic and inhuman."
Recently, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh admitted that online recruitment by Islamic State militant group has become a major security challenge for India.
On September 12, an Indian woman, who was arrested in Hyderabad for her alleged involvement in recruitment for ISIS terror outfit, was sent to 14-day judicial custody by a court.
Afsha Jabeen, alias 'Nicky Joseph', who hails from Tolichowki area but had been portraying herself as a British national while luring youth for ISIS through social media, was deported by the UAE after which she was arrested by Cyberabad police.
On January 16 this year, Salman Mohiuddin, a US-returned Hyderabadi on his way to Turkey to join ISIS, was arrested by Cyberabad police at the international airport for allegedly trying to leave the country to join the terror group, police said.
The 32-year-old US-returned engineering graduate, who is a resident of Bazarghat here, was trying to join ISIS by travelling to Dubai and from there to Syria via Turkey, the police said.
