Jaya Prada likely to join BJP

Hyderabad: Actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada is likely to join the BJP, reports said on Thursday.

Talking to a news agency, Jaya Prada said talks are going on. The moment it is finalised, everyone will know, she added.

According to reports, Jaya Prada has expressed her interest in contesting polls against Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, Amar Singh, the Rashtriya Lok Dal member and her mentor in politics, told a news agency that he and Jaya Prada “are in touch with everybody”.

“We have met BJP's Om Mathur and Prabhat Jha. I am also an old friend of Arun Jaitley,” added Singh.

Last year, both Amar Singh and Jaya Prada had joined the Rashtriya Lok Dal headed by Ajit Singh. She contested the national elections from Bijnore in UP, but lost.
