Jet Airways Delhi-Kathmandu flight delayed after threat call
Jet Airways flight 9W260 with 104 passengers and 7 crew members was all set to fly out of IGI airport.
New Delhi: A Jet Airways flight from Delhi to Kathmandu was delayed on Monday after a call warned of a “gift box” on board the plane.
Jet Airways flight 9W260 with 104 passengers and 7 crew members was all set to fly out of IGI airport at 1:20 pm when a senior Delhi Police officer got a call warning of a threat to the plane.
As per media reports, the caller said a “gift box” has been placed beneath one of the seats on the plane.
The emergency response team at the airport immediately swung into action.
All the passengers and crew was de-boarded before a joint team of Delhi Police, CISF and Bureau of Civil Aviation Safety started to check the plane.
The passengers are currently in the departure lounge of the airport.
As over two hours have passed since the threat call, it is most likely to be a hoax.
