New Delhi: A Jharkhand University professor has been suspended for allegedly inviting Delhi's Jawaharlal University (JNU) teacher to an event.  
According to a report in the NDTV, Shreya Bhattacharji, an associate professor at Central University of Jharkhand is charged for 'tarnishing' the University's image by inviting JNU professor MN Panini earlier this month.

The event was organised to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.


Bhattacharji's suspension order reads that professor Panini is the mentor of a group which was part of anti-national sloganeering at JNU campus earlier this year. 


The order further says that Bhattacharji invited professor Panini without verifying his credentials. It also says that Governor Draupadi Murmu also opted out of the event beacuse of the presence of the controversial guest like professor Panini.
