'Nidar' is designed with the requirement of office-goers, as it is easy to carry because of its weight and size. It is likely to cost Rs 35,000, almost one-third the price of 'Nirbheek', said a report in the Times Of India.

PK Aggarwal, the officer-in-charge of Rifle Factory Ishapore said that .22 calibre 'Nidar' is lightest and the cheapest revolver ever made in India. It is capable of firing eight rounds loaded in its revolving chamber against 'Nirbheek', which has capacity of only six rounds at a go.

Due to its light weight and small size, 'Nidar' can be easily carried inside purse, handbags or in pockets of trousers and jackets. It can fire with an accuracy upto the distance of seven metres and has a barrel lenght of 40.3 mm.

Nidar will be launched on February 2.
