Man accused of slapping Kanhaiya Kumar files police complaint over his 'army rape' remark

New Delhi: A Ghaziabad native has filed a complaint against Jawaharlal Nehru University student union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar over his remarks that army men rapes women in Kashmir.

Interestingly, he is the same man who was recently accused of slapping the student leader in the campus.

Vikas Chaudhary, 26, who works with a private developer in New Delhi told Hindustan Times that Kanhaiya made derogatory remarks against the Indian Army after he was released from jail on bail.

He added that after listening to Kanhaiya's claim about army men raping women in Kashmir, he couldn't stop himself and went to meet Kanhaiya at JNU campus. Chaudhary told HT that not only Kanhaiya refused to meet him, his supports pushed and got physical with him and later accused him of trying to slap the student leader.

After his release from jail, Kanhaiya had addressed a gathering of JNU students where he said, “We will speak against Armed Forces Special Powers Act. With all my due respect to army soldiers, I will say this that in Kashmir women are raped by security personnel.”
