Man arrested for derogatory Facebook comment against Pathankot martyr Lt Col Niranjan
With whole nation uniting to pay tributes to the Pathankot martyrs, Kerala Police on Tuesday arrested a person for posting derogatory comment on Facebook against slain Lt Col Niranjan.
The 24-year-old Anwar was arrested by Malappuram district police from his house inKodur. He has booked on sedition charges (Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code).
According to a report in IndiaToday.in, Anwar's commented, "One trouble less, now! His wife will be given financial aid and a job, common man gets nothing! What a stinking democracy!"
Anwar's profile said he worked for a Malayalam newspaper Madhyamam. The police action was taken following a complaint by the newspaper management which claimed that Anwar Sadhik never worked for them.
Report says that Anwar works as a salesman in ration shop and he deliberately mentioned the newspapers's name in his profile so that people take his comment seriously.
