New Delhi: Former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju has stirred controversy yet again by offering the state of Bihar to Pakistan along with Kashmir.
Writing in a Facebook post on Sunday, Katju said: “Pakistanis, let us end our dispute once and for all. We offer you Kashmir, but on the condition you also take Bihar. It is a package deal.”
He invoked Atal Bihari Vajpayee in his post saying that the former prime minister had offered this deal to Musharraf at the Agra Summit, but he “stupidly rejected it”.
His post irked a number of people and in a bid to pacify the anger over his comments, Katju said “many Biharis lack a sense of humour”.
However, he wrote another post, saying that the government Pakistan has “point blank refused the offer of taking Kashmir along with Bihar, and they have profusely apologised for ever asking for Kashmir at all and have promised never to ask for it again”.
In another post, the former Supreme Court judge said that Pakistan got all its ideas of setting up jungle raj from Bihar.
Not may people appreciated Katju’s comments. Some even suggested that instead of Bihar, Pakistan should take Katju. Have a look at some of the replies Katju got on his posts:
