New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ram Madhav on Thursday hit back at Pakistan for the "glorification" of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani at the UN General Assembly.
Madhav said Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was at his pathetic best at the UN.
“He (Sharif) did not talk like Supreme Commander of Pakistan but that of Hizbul Mujahideen,” said the BJP leader.
It is pathetic to see the Pakistani PM championing the cause of UN-designated terror organisation, said Madhav, adding that Pakistan should be declared a terrorist state.
In his UNGA address, Sharif had mentioned Hizbul militant Burhan Wani, whose killing on July 8 sparked off the current unrest in the Kashmir Valley, terming him a "young leader" and the symbol of the Kashmiri unrest.
The Pakistan Prime Minister also raked up the Kashmir issue in a major way and called for an international probe into alleged rights violations in the Kashmir Valley.
Madhav said Sharif's speech established everything that India has been saying about him and Pakistan.
The BJP leader added that India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan at a diplomatic level.
“We will respond to Pakistan on its Uri misadventure at multiple levels,” assured Madhav.
He further said that he was sure the government would take necessary actions and perpetrators of Uri attack will not be spared.
Pakistan had observed a black day to protest Wani's killing by Indian security forces and termed him a martyr -- an issue that has led to further worsening of bilateral ties.
