No Indo-Pak peace talks tomorrow: Pakistan govt

Islamabad: The Foreign Secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan, which were to be held on January 15, will be rescheduled, Pakistan's Foreign Office  said on Thursday.

"The Foreign Secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan will not be held tomorrow and have been postponed. India and Pakistan government are in touch so that a date can be fixed for Foreign Secretary-level talks," Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah said.

Khalilullah also said that he is not aware of the detention of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar in connection with Pathankot terror attack. "I am not aware of such arrests. Mutual consultations are on about rescheduling the talks. We have said it often that terrorism is common enemy for all. We have to work together to end it," Khalilullah said.

Until Wednesday, Pakistani media reported that Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar was detained along with his relatives from Islamabad, two days ago. According to Pakistani media reports, Masood was taken to a secret location where he was being probed over masterminding the terror plot at Pathankot airbase.

However, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup issued a statement on Wednesday night that India has not received any confirmation of Azhar's detention.

India in recent days had strongly suggested that for the talks to take place between two nations, Pakistan should take action first against guilty behind the Pathankot terror attack.
